Platform usage
LicenseTrack provides automated monitoring across 13 code-backed integrations on your behalf. When a potential match is detected, LicenseTrack prepares a pre-filled DMCA notice for you to review and submit. On YouTube and SoundCloud specifically, LicenseTrack files the DMCA notice for you when our platform credentials are configured; for other platforms, or when those credentials are not configured, LicenseTrack prepares the notice for you to review and submit. LicenseTrack also generates a licensing agreement you can offer to the infringer. You retain full control over every action — we act only when you instruct us to.
Composer IP ownership
You retain 100% ownership of all tracks and content you upload to LicenseTrack. The platform acquires no rights, no licenses, and no interest in your intellectual property. We act solely as a monitoring and enforcement tool; we do not claim any ownership over the music we help you protect.
Licensing revenue split
When a relevant takedown-related case results in a successfully completed licence, 85% of the licensing revenue goes to the composer or music rights holder and 15% goes to LicenseTrack. This split does not transfer ownership of any music rights to LicenseTrack.
DMCA notices
DMCA filing is user-initiated and requires accepting a legal disclaimer confirming your good-faith belief. LicenseTrack is a tooling platform, not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice. Responsibility for each notice lies entirely with you.
